Use the Certificate Generation Tool to create standardized certificates and sign-in sheets for early childhood training opportunities in Texas, including face-to-face training, online training, coaching, mentoring, and conferences. Available to all TECPDS users at no cost, this tool allows trainers to provide certificates to attendees, including downloading, printing, and directly sending to their TECPDS accounts. Trainers and center directors are encouraged to use this tool to meet Child Care Regulation and Texas Rising Star requirements.

What to Look for in Training Certificates

For early childhood professionals working in Texas, there are several requirements for training certificates. The TECPDS Certificate Generation Tool meets these requirements.

Sample Certificate
  • Name of the attendee (written clearly and matches the name on the TECPDS account)
  • Name of training
  • Date of training
  • Hours of training
  • Core Competencies at least one (see below)
  • How the training was provided (instructor-led, self-instructional, webinar, conference). If the training is split into different topics, clearly label the hours and competencies for each topic.
  • Name of the trainer listed clearly (a signature, without a printed name, that cannot be read, will not be accepted)
  • Qualifications of the trainer (see below)
