First Steps with TECPDS
Anyone who works with children birth to age 8 can register for an account with the Texas Workforce Registry, regardless of their role or the sector in which they work. A TECPDS account can help you keep track of your professional development through creating and updating your professional development profile, view your professional development report, and link to your center/facility of employment.

Texas Core Competencies: Core competencies are the foundation of a professional development system. These core competencies refer to specific, basic concepts, skills, and abilities that early childhood professionals should learn, understand, and demonstrate.
Find My Career Pathway Tool: Learn how to advance your career pathway using the “Find My Career Pathway” tool. Available to all TECPDS users, early childhood professionals can enter information about their education, training, and work experience to learn their career pathway level using this tool.
Texas ECE Career Pathway: The career pathway defines early childhood professionals’ knowledge and skill mastery levels and identifies steps for advancing their careers.
ECE Professionals Resources: This list is for informational purposes only. No official endorsement of any practice, publication, program, or individual by the TECPDS is intended or inferred. Online programs, course offerings, and Web page addresses change frequently, so the information contained on this page may have already changed.
Certificate Generation Tool: Create standardized certificates and sign-in sheets that include all state-required information for early childhood trainings in Texas. The Certificate Generation Tool provides opportunities for all trainers to create certificates that meet all state requirements for their training participants. Available to all TECPDS account holders, use this tool to upload certificates directly into the TECPDS accounts of training attendees (if they provided their personal account number). Use the Certificate Generation Tool to create certificates for your face-to-face and online trainings, as well as coaching and mentoring! Other Online Learning & Professional Development
CLI Engage hosts many online professional development courses for early childhood teachers, administrators, coaches, and parents. After completing an online course on CLI Engage, users can receive a certificate certifying their completion for either Continuing Professional Education hours (CPEs) or Child Care Licensing clock hours. If users also have an account on the Texas Workforce Registry, certificates automatically transfer to their personal TECPDS account.

TX Core Competencies for Practitioners and Administrators Training: Core competencies for early childhood practitioners clearly articulate the knowledge and skills all types of early childhood practitioners should possess to provide responsive, rich experiences. These core competencies refer to specific, basic concepts, skills, and abilities that early childhood professionals should learn, understand, and demonstrate.
Workforce Registry Accounts for Texas Rising Star: These online trainings detail how a TRS provider can make the most of their account on TECPDS. These modules will familiarize users with creating and completing accounts ready for records validation.
