The Texas Workforce Registry (TWR) is a web-based application for early childhood professionals to keep track of all of their education and employment history, as well as the clock hours of training they have accrued. Through your TECPDS account, create a professional development profile, view reports, link to your program or school, connect to the WorkInTexas.com job search resource and matching system, and evaluate trainings presented by Registered Trainers.
The Texas Workforce Registry offers features for the early childhood workforce through TECPDS accounts, available at no cost:
- Specialist: Early childhood specialists are those professionals (regardless of early childhood setting) who support practitioners and administrators in quality improvement and professional development efforts
- Common job titles for specialists include: coordinator, mentor, coach, school specialist, and trainer
- Center Director/Administrator: Early childhood program administrators are those professionals who are responsible for planning, managing, implementing, and evaluating early childhood programs
- Common job titles include: center director, site manager, school administrator, program manager, coordinator, and principal
- Practitioner: Early childhood practitioners are those professionals (regardless of early childhood setting) who provide direct instruction and/or care to young children
- Common job titles for practitioners include: teacher, assistant teacher, provider, and caregiver

- Individual Profile Report: Upload your documents into your TECPDS account and download your individual profile report, detailing your education, credentials, professional development, and work history over time.
- Texas Core Competencies for Early Childhood Practitioners and Administrators: Core competencies refer to demonstrated skills and abilities that help professionals know what skills and knowledge they should possess to be successful in their careers.
- Career Pathway Report: Based on the Texas Early Childhood Career Pathway, upload your records into your TECPDS account to determine your career pathway level and plan the next steps in your career.
- Link to Your Center: Practitioners can connect their individual profiles to their current employers, and administrators can view individual profile reports for all practitioners connected to their center/school.
- Record Verification: Through TECPDS, an individual’s professional development, education, and employment records can be reviewed and verified by TECPDS and local workforce development board staff. These verified records allow users to view and download career pathway and professional development reports with their “validated” career pathway level, rather than “self-reported” level.
