We recently updated Trainer Levels in the Texas Trainer Registry on TECPDS, providing an opportunity to advance on your pathway! There are two permission levels in the Texas Trainer Registry:
Trainers listed on the Texas Trainer Registry (“Registered Trainers”) have gone through an approval process that is defined by a set of qualifications which include early childhood expertise and experience, and knowledge of adult learning theories and principles. The training approval process is linked to core competencies, principles of adult learning, and other standards, such as early learning guidelines. To locate a trainer listed on the Texas Trainer Registry or the trainings they offer, visit the Search Trainers/Trainings page.
TECPDS also offers opportunities for organizations that provide training to formally connect their trainings and trainers to TECPDS through an organizational dashboard. Currently, this opportunity is available for non-profit training organizations or organizations in formal agreements with the Texas Workforce Commission to provide professional development.
Learn More About Registered Trainers
The traditional Trainer account associated with TECPDS requires the completion of a Texas Trainer application to determine your qualifications to provide trainings to child care providers across the state. The first step is to create your FREE TECPDS account. All Registered Trainers will enter as a Level 1 Trainer. There are opportunities for advancement with the Trainer Micro-credential Program.
Learn More About Non-Registered Trainers
Non-Registered Trainers are NOT approved by TECPDS to train under Child Care Regulation’s trainer requirements. These features are part of the base TECPDS account and can be accessed from your dashboard. Non-Registered Trainers have the option to continue to a Registered Trainer application at a later date, if they choose to do so (find the link to get started on your TECPDS dashboard after logging in). We strongly encourage center directors and program administrators who deliver training to their own staff to use the Certificate Generation Tool for their staff professional development.
