This guide explores how you may begin to add your education documents, as well as any credentials that you may have earned over the course of your career.
Step 1: After setting up your accounts, we recommend that you pull together the documents you would like to upload, such as education, credentials, work history, and professional development. (All professional development earned on CLI Engage will automatically transfer into your account if you connect your accounts.)
Step 2: Select the “Upload My Career Records” and select the “Record Type” that you want to enter. If you select Education complete the fields that are shown.
Step 3: At the bottom of the entries select the “Education Type“. You can enter Degrees and Diplomas, Coursework or Credentials and Certifications. Each educational record, credential, or certification will need to be accompanied by its supporting documentation, so make sure you have electronic copies of all transcripts and certificates for each record you wish to add to this page. You will not be able to complete an entry without a supporting document. If a degree is not yet complete, you can still add it, but do not put a completed date. You also have the option to add a list of courses you have completed for this pending degree. These go into the Coursework in Early Childhood/Child Development section.
Step 4: Follow the same steps for coursework, credentials and certifications.
Step 5: You have the ability to get a career pathway report. (This report lets you know where you currently fall on the career pathway and provides feedback on how they can move forward on the pathway.) By completing the sections fully, you can be provided with the most accurate level. For more information on the career pathway for Early Childhood professionals in Texas, go toTexas ECE Career Pathway.
(Please note that there is a checkbox to identify that the course taken was early childhood or business related. You will also be asked to select a Core Competency Area. For more information about the Texas Core Competencies for Early Childhood Practitioners and Administrators trainings go to the home page of TECPDS.org, select Resources, and go to the Texas Core Competencies. You can access a pdf. document or go to an online training course. The link to the course will take you to CLI Engage, where you can take the online training modules for Practitioners or Administrators and receive clock hour credit. If the user is connected to CLI Engage he completed online trainings will move into their account.)
